NASCON Allied Industries Posts 27.6% Growth in Half-Year Profit

NASCON Allied Industries Plc recorded a strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, with profit before tax rising 27.59 percent year-on-year to ₦29.70 billion, driven by stronger operating margins, increased finance income, and lower borrowing costs despite modest revenue growth.

According to the company's unaudited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue increased by 3.84 percent to ₦81.16 billion, compared with ₦78.16 billion recorded during the same period in 2025. The results were filed with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on **July 29, 2026.

The producer of the widely consumed Dangote Salt also reported a 25.68 percent increase in profit after tax, which rose to ₦19.60 billion, reflecting improved operational efficiency and disciplined cost management.

Although revenue growth remained moderate, the company delivered stronger profitability through improved margins. Gross profit climbed 9.15 percent to ₦40.81 billion, indicating that NASCON generated higher earnings from its core operations while effectively managing production and operating costs.

The improved financial performance was further supported by higher finance income and a reduction in borrowing expenses, which enhanced overall earnings and strengthened the company's bottom line.

NASCON's results highlight the resilience of Nigeria's consumer goods sector, particularly for manufacturers of essential food products that continue to experience stable demand despite broader economic challenges. The company's focus on operational efficiency and prudent financial management enabled it to translate modest sales growth into significantly stronger profits.

Market analysts say the performance positions NASCON well for the second half of the year, as continued demand for staple food products, efficient cost control, and improved financing conditions could further support earnings growth.

With a stronger balance sheet and sustained profitability, NASCON Allied Industries remains well-positioned to capitalize on opportunities in Nigeria's consumer goods market while delivering value to shareholders through improved operational performance and disciplined financial management.
