Real Madrid Becomes First Sports Club to Generate Over €1.2 Billion in Annual Revenue

Real Madrid has made sporting history off the pitch by becoming the first sports organization in the world to generate more than €1.2 billion in annual operating revenue, reporting a record €1.221 billion for the 2025–2026 financial year.

The landmark achievement came despite the Spanish giants finishing the season without winning a major trophy, demonstrating the club's growing financial strength beyond on-field success.

According to the club's latest financial results, Real Madrid's earnings continue to be driven by robust commercial operations, matchday revenue, and the transformation of the redeveloped Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which has become a major source of income through events, hospitality, sponsorships, and other commercial activities.

The club also posted record earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of €287.4 million, representing an 18 percent increase over the previous financial year. Meanwhile, net profit after tax rose 8 percent to €26.3 million, extending an extraordinary streak of 26 consecutive years of profitability.

The financial performance underscores Real Madrid's successful strategy of diversifying its revenue streams and reducing its dependence on sporting achievements alone. While trophies remain central to the club's identity, its expanding commercial ecosystem has enabled sustained financial growth regardless of results on the field.

The modernized Santiago Bernabéu has played a pivotal role in this transformation, generating income beyond football through concerts, corporate events, tourism, and premium hospitality offerings. Combined with lucrative sponsorship agreements, global merchandising, and broadcasting revenues, the stadium has become a key driver of the club's record-breaking earnings.

Financial analysts view Real Madrid's latest results as a benchmark for the global sports industry, illustrating how strategic infrastructure investment and commercial innovation can create long-term financial resilience. The club's ability to deliver record revenues while maintaining profitability highlights the strength of its business model in an increasingly competitive sports market.

With another year of record income and sustained profitability, Real Madrid has reinforced its position as one of the world's most financially successful sporting institutions, setting a new standard for revenue generation in global football
